Key responsibilities

  • Design and programming: Writing code for game mechanics, artificial intelligence (AI) behaviors, physics, and user interfaces. They use game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine to build gameplay and integrate storylines. 
  • Collaboration: Working with other team members, such as artists, animators, and game designers, to implement assets and features. 
  • Debugging and optimization: Finding and fixing bugs and glitches, and optimizing the game's performance to ensure smooth and enjoyable gameplay across different platforms like PC, console, and mobile. 
  • Technical development: Building and maintaining the code, tools, and systems that make the game function. 
  • Quality assurance: Testing the game to ensure it provides a compelling user experience and balances difficulty effectively.
