Baldi's Basics

Initially, Baldi presents himself as a friendly teacher eager to help students learn. He welcomes the player into the school and introduces the basic objective. Seven notebooks are hidden throughout the building, and collecting them is the key to success. This objective seems straightforward enough. Players simply need to locate notebooks, solve a few educational problems, and continue exploring. The game’s educational theme appears ******* during these early moments, encouraging players to lower their guard.

The first notebook reinforces this illusion. Inside are simple mathematical questions that can be solved easily. Correct answers earn praise from Baldi, who responds with enthusiasm and encouragement. Everything feels normal. Everything feels safe. However, this sense of security is carefully constructed and destined to collapse.

As players continue collecting notebooks, impossible questions begin to appear. These problems contain nonsensical symbols, incomprehensible equations, and distorted text that cannot be solved through any known method. No matter what answer the player enters, the result is always incorrect. The game intentionally removes the possibility of success. Failure becomes inevitable.
